Partagas Serie S, Shaped Cigars
Inspired by traditional cigar shapes of the past, General Cigar has launched the Partagas Serie S, offered in five unique shapes: Primero (6 x 60), Preferido (6 x 52), Perfecto (6 x 49), Exquisito (7-1/2 x 45/54), and Esplendido (4-1/2 x 38/60/44).

General is providing a full marketing support package for the launch timed for maximum sales impact during the holiday season. A national tasting event will take place during the week of December 13th with cigars provided, and a turnkey point-of-sale kit, which includes ad slicks, in-store posters, counter cards, consumer take-ones, shelf talkers, and shape charts will help retailers merchandise the brand and promote in-store interest. A sampler pack containing the Primero, Esplendido, and Exquisito is being offered at a special introductory price, and a Partagas Serie S sweepstakes is being promoted to consumers.

Hoyo Adds Seleccion Royale Prensado, Tubos
Villazon & Company, makers of Punch and Excalibur brands, has introduced a limited edition cigar to the Hoyo de Monterrey line. The Seleccion Royale Prensado is a full-bodied, square-pressed cigar featured in four sizes: Baron (4-1/2 x 50), Princesa (5-1/2 x 44), Senador (6-1/8 x 50), and Reina (63Ú4 x 48). Fittipaldi Adds Boxed Pressed Vintage Maduro
Alliance Cigar has introduced the Fittipaldi Vintage Maduro boxed pressed cigar. Rolled from tobaccos grown and aged in the Dominican Republic under the supervision of August Reyes, these rich, dark cigars are produced at Reyes' factory in Santiago - De Los Reyes Cigar, S.A.

Cuban seed fillers and binders receive a special fermentation prior to rolling. The cigars are finished with a double-fermented Mexican-grown wrapper.

The result is a surprisingly smooth, yet rich taste, according to the distributor. "The extended aging has created a cigar which is unique in its complex taste, yet it retains a mild, almost sweet finish."

The cigars are available in three box-pressed sizes, 25 to a box: Toro (6 x 50) at suggested retail of $5.00, Torpedo (6 x 50) $6.50, and Belicosos (4-1/2 x 50) $6.00.

Davidoff Tubos, Avo Uvezian Travel Packs
Davidoff of Geneva has also devised a new tube to hold individual cigars. The aluminum casings are designed to hold some of Davidoffs premium sizes - the Davidoff Special and 2000 sizes, the Zino Connoisseur 400, the Avo #5 - and keep them "humidor fresh."

Another new addition from Davidoff is geared towards convenience. Not only has Avo Uvezian extended his line of "XO" cigars, he is offering four- and five-packs to facilitate choices for cigar lovers. With its distinctive persimmon color, the "XO" cigar packs are the perfect container for the new Seranata, Notturno, Presto, and Allegro, and they make the Maestro, Preludio, and Intermezzo very convenient to carry. Prices range from $5.40 to $11.80 per cigar or $27.00 to $47.20 for the packs.
