Limited Edition Partagas 160 Signature Series Debuts from General Cigar

A reserve of Cameroon wrapper from the same 1977 crop used to finish the Partagas 150 cigars a decade ago has been tapped again on the Partagas 160 Signature Series, a very limited one-time release of five all-new frontmarks featuring smaller sizes than the previous series.

The mature Cameroon wrapper has been combined with a top-grade Mexican San Andréas binder and blend of Dominican Piloto Cubanao and Mexican San Andréas long-filler leaf, all triple sorted to ensure a greater concentration of flavor, according the cigar master Daniel Núñez.

Three of the frontmarks - Robusto Minor (4 x 48, $18 each), Robusto (5 x 50, $20 each), and Robusto Major (5 1/2 x 52, $22 each) are bundled in traditional Cuban style and presented in 25-count wooden boxes. The remaining two frontmarks - Crystal 160 (6 3/4 x 43, $26 each in individual glass tubes) and Cifuentes Especial (7 x 48, $30 each and created as a tribute to Ramon Cifuentes) are presented in boxes of ten.

Cuban Imports introduces Exile

Michael Argenti, president of Cuban Imports, Inc., has launched a new premium cigar - Exile. Fashioned by master blender Sr. Omar Ortez at Esteli’s Nicaragua-American Tobacco, S.A. factory, Exile is comprised of a blend of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos. Finished with either an Ecuadorian sun-grown Sumatra Rosado or a smooth and flavorful U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper, Exile is available in four sizes: Robusto (5 x 50), Perfection 1 (5 1/2 x 49 perfecto), Churchill (6 3/4 x 50), and Perfection 2 (7 x 49 figurado).

“I believe the style, character, and caliber of this cigar has been in exile for nearly a half century, and we’re delighted to resurrect and re-introduce it to the American market,” says Argenti. “For the experienced cigar connoisseur, it is an absolute treasure.”

Each cigar is wrapped in a paper reproduction of the February 4th, 1962 headline page of the New York Daily Mirror proclaiming President John F. Kennedy’s enactment of the Cuban embargo. The cigars are presented in a rustic 24-count box. Suggested retail prices range from $5.50 to $8.50 per cigar.
